Our usual Sunday morning services were dedicated to receiving the people of York in the streets as the city transformed around the Yorkshire marathon. Prayer booths, live jazz, sumo wrestling, face painting, a cafe and a bouncy castle were all set up outside the church as many people heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, with some choosing to give their lives to Him. Our evening service was large and worshipful, as Greg Downes continued the sermon series by exploring what it means to have faith, teaching us that it is not the size or quality of our faith that matters, but the object. Of course, the service was followed by the time-honoured tradition of visiting McDonalds & the Cross Keys pub.
